        If you have a dynamic or light background, the drop shadow keeps text readable on the light spaces if you go transparent. I'm holding off updating because this would "break" the way I use the Widgets.

        Agreed. When using dark text and transparent widget, shadow is annoying. But I usually use white text and dark backgrounds, so I don't run into this too often.

        We can either completely remove all text shadow or keep it.
        It can't be added as an option.

        Ulrick - what shadow effect? There is no shadow except for the text.

        ...and shadow effect in general. When using a transparent widget the shadow effects can be annoying
